Montvale, N.J., July 24, 2018IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) announced today the appointment of Virginia “Ginger” R. White, CMA, CSCA, as Chair of IMA’s Global Board of Directors for its 2018-2019 fiscal year and Linda Devonish-Mills, CMA, CPA, CAE, as its first director of diversity and inclusion.

As Chair, IMA’s most senior volunteer role, White will focus on three major initiatives: reaching students, advancing women in the profession and maintaining the relevancy of the profession in the face of unprecedented technological change. Devonish-Mills, in the new director of diversity and inclusion staff role, will help facilitate, guide and champion the strategic integration of diversity and inclusion into every aspect of IMA’s member and corporate experience. A member of IMA’s staff since 2006, Devonish-Mills was previously IMA’s director of technical accounting activities, where she informed IMA members and external stakeholders about the latest technical accounting issues affecting the profession.

“It’s of upmost importance to IMA that each and every one of our stakeholders, regardless of personal background, experience an inclusive environment not just with IMA, but also within their own organizations,” said Jeff Thomson, CMA, CSCA, CAE, IMA president and CEO. “Ginger and Linda are two individuals who are dedicated to furthering that reality and we are grateful for their service to the profession.”
