Academic members: Do you know of outstanding accounting and finance students who would benefit from earning their CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) certification? You can help these students stand out as they graduate by nominating them for a CMA Scholarship, which allows motivated students the opportunity to pursue their CMA certification at no cost.

To date, more than 9,000 students globally have earned a CMA Scholarship and more than 1,000 universities around the world have participated in the program. In total, IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) has awarded more than $14 million (USD) in scholarships since the program’s inception.

All IMA academic members are eligible to nominate up to 10 students per university per academic year. Students must attend an accredited college or university and must be nominated by a professor (no self-nominations are accepted). IMA accepts applications year-round.

CMA Scholarship awardees receive a comprehensive package of benefits, including:
  • Entrance fee to the CMA program
  • Exam support package with retired exam questions and a glossary of terms
  • Registration fees covering both parts of the exam (additional fees will apply for retakes)
  • Up to three years of IMA membership while pursuing the certification
Said Alain Mulder, director, IMA Europe operations, “This scholarship is just one of the many ways that IMA is committed to supporting student members. Taking the CMA exam while still in school enables students to stand out to employers during their job interviews, demonstrating that they are highly motivated and willing to put in extra work to gain a professional certification. Through this program, academic members can help get their students’ careers off to a great start.”
