IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) continues its popular “Faculty Friday” webinar series this fall with three offerings that discuss innovative teaching techniques and programs. These hour-long presentations are available exclusively to IMA educator members and cover in-demand topics that can add energy to the classroom experience.
The next webinar, “Data Analytics in Introductory Accounting,” will be held on September 21. It will feature Wendy Tietz, Ph.D., CMA, CSCA, CPA, accounting professor at Kent State University; and Tracie L. Miller-Nobles, CPA, associate professor at Austin Community College, who will discuss how to teach the topic of data analytics in an entry-level accounting class. Tietz and Miller-Nobles will share step-by-step tutorial videos and Excel projects that require students to create pivot tables and conditional formatting using large datasets. Register by visiting this link.
Two other webinars are planned for this fall: one on October 19, which will cover IMA’s enhanced Management Accounting Competency Framework. A third webinar, by Susan Wolcott, Ph.D., on the topic of ethics, is planned for December; more details will be available soon.
All three fall webinars will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. ET and will offer one hour of CPE credit; preregistration is required. In addition, the Faculty Friday series also offers archived versions of its live webinars, which can be accessed on the IMA website at any time. Note that recorded webinars are NOT eligible for CPE credit. Click on this link to view the entire Faculty Friday library. Specific topics covered:
