The heart of IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) is our volunteers, those members who empower the profession and our association through their advocacy, innovation, and leadership. IMA now offers an opportunity to honor these amazing members with an IMA Global Award nomination. These awards recognize proud, accomplished, selfless, experienced, and distinguished individuals for their inspiring dedication to IMA and the accounting and finance profession.
The award nomination page is now open, and the deadline for submissions is April 7, 2022. Due to the esteemed nature of these awards, IMA will not accept self-nominations.
The categories are:
- IMA Champion: provides volunteer service "above and beyond the call of duty."
- IMA Exemplary Young Professional: displays an "outstanding and creative approach to problem solving."
- IMA Major J. Lee Nicholson Lifetime Achievement Award: shows extraordinary leadership and dedication to IMA over a lifetime of service.
- NEW: R. Lee Brummet Exemplary Educator Award: IMA volunteer academic member who has distinguished themselves in the management accounting and finance profession. This is a new award for 2022, and prior recipients of the R. Lee Brummet Award and the Faculty Leadership Award are eligible.
Pat Stefanczyk, CAE, IMA vice president governance, corporate secretary & volunteer relations, said, “These annual awards recognize the contributions and excellence of our many incredible volunteers. All members are invited to nominate those individuals who have inspired us through their example of leadership and dedication. We value the way all of our volunteers have contributed to IMA during this especially difficult time and their dedication to members who have inspired us through their example of leadership and accomplishment.”
Members wishing to submit a nomination should carefully review the criteria for each specific award and then complete the appropriate nomination form. The form will require the nominator to answer questions about the nominee and to upload a nomination letter explaining why the individual being nominated should receive the specific award.
