As 2019 winds down, IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) U.S. members are reminded that they can give the gift of knowledge by making a year-end contribution to the organization.
Many of IMA’s most important programs, particularly those for students, are supported primarily through member contributions.
Said Jeff Thomson, CMA, CSCA, CAE, IMA president and CEO, “Over the past 15 years, IMA and its members have contributed more than $2.3 million to management accounting research projects, as well as funded many generous scholarships to help defray the high cost of education for our profession’s next generation of leaders. Member gifts are truly an investment in the future.”
Members can choose to support IMA general giving or specific initiatives, including:
- IMA Century Student Scholarship Fund: a fundraising initiative, started in honor of IMA’s 100-Year Anniversary, that supports student scholarships.
- IMA Student Leadership Conference: an annual event, held in a different U.S. city, where students learn from veteran practitioners about the critical role of accountants and financial professionals in business.
- IMA Leadership Academy: supports the development and enhancement of members’ leadership skills to aid in career advancement.
- IMA Research Foundation: funds relevant, thought-provoking research that furthers the knowledge and scope of accounting and financial management.
IMA makes it easy to give using a fast and secure online form. No donation is too small, and many employers offer matching programs. IMA is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, and gifts may be deductible under U.S. tax regulations.
