You may have noticed that you’re receiving fewer emails from us. That’s not an accident – IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) is revamping our email policy so that members receive the emails that are specific, as much as possible, to their indicated preferences. In short, this should mean fewer unwanted emails and more emails about what matters most to you.

Make Sure You Opt In

As part of this change, members are reminded that they will need to indicate their preferences to receive certain emails that were previously sent to them automatically. If you would like to continue to receive any of the following emails, click on the links below and follow the instructions about how to subscribe:

  • Weekly SF Alerts: All members receive a monthly digest, but you can also receive weekly alerts with bonus content. Click here if you want to receive weekly alerts.
  • IMA webinars: Members who attend webinars receive a weekly webinar email, while those who aren't past attendees receive a monthly digest of webinars. Check out upcoming and prior IMA webinars at this link.
  • CMA Connection: This quarterly enewsletter is now only sent to CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) candidates. Current or prospective CMAs who wish to receive it should visit this link to opt in.

Update Your Email Preferences

Now is also a good time for members to update their email preferences. To do so, go to https://www.imaonlinestore.com/PersonifyEbusiness/Default.aspx to access your IMA member profile. On the left-hand side, click on "myProfile" and select "Manage Email Subscriptions" from the drop-down menu. There, you will see a list of the newsletters and other communications you have subscribed to. Feel free to add or delete as you wish.

“We’re making these changes to consolidate messages and give members greater control over the recurring content they receive," said Kevin O'Brien, IMA digital marketing director. "Our goal is to provide valuable individualized content that members ask for. This is an evolving process leveraging member feedback and best practices. With the growing volume of emails people now receive, it makes sense that we would do our part to help cut down on that clutter.”

Members are invited to submit questions, comments, or suggestions about this new email policy to ioneditor@imanet.org.
