IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) is pleased to share news of its most recent award win. IMA has earned a 2017 ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) “Power of A” Sliver Award for its CareerDriver® self-assessment tool. ASAE honored IMA in “The Power to Create a Competitive Workforce” category.
ASAE’s “Power of A” (Association) awards, the industry’s highest honor, recognizes an association’s valuable contributions to professional fields and communities on local, national, and global levels. The “Power of A” Awards reward the outstanding accomplishments of associations and industry professionals who work tirelessly to strengthen lives, the workforce, our systems and structures, the economy, and the world.
“Congratulations to IMA and its partners for their efforts to enrich and strengthen lives,” said Sharon J. Swan, FASAE, CAE, chief executive officer of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and chair of the “Power of A” judging Committee. “Their initiative exemplifies how we work best when we work together and how associations have a positive influence on our everyday lives in every way.”
CareerDriver, a free member benefit, helps members evaluate their skillsets, create a personalized development plan, and explore possible career paths in management accounting. Based on the IMA Management Accounting Competency Framework, the CareerDriver tool compares skillsets against 28 technical and leadership competencies, and matches them with the knowledge, skills and abilities of 40 common management accounting job titles. Members can identify competency gaps and leverage IMA’s educational programs as part of their professional development.
A popular feature on the IMA website, to date more than 3,700 IMA members have logged-in to the CareerDriver tool, completing more than 1,700 assessments and creating more than 1,300 personal development plans. IMA recently released an exciting new animated video highlighting how using CareerDriver is as easy as 1, 2, 3. The video is available on IMA’s YouTube channel: CareerDriver – 3 Steps to Advancing Your Career!
“IMA is driven to continually deliver cutting-edge resources to its members to benefit their career development,” said Debbie Warner, CAE, CPLP, IMA vice president of education and career services. “Recognition by ASAE is an honor, and affirms that IMA is enhancing careers, organizations, and the public interest.”
