The ICMA^® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) Board of Regents, the body that oversees the CMA^® (Certified Management Accountants) program, recently appointed five new Regents to serve three-year terms between now and June 30, 2021. The new Regents are:

• Weerapat “Go” Attachot, CMA, CSCA, CPA, CIA, CFE, Ph.D. – Attachot currently serves as assistant professor of Accounting at Babson College, a position he has held since 2016. Attachot earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Accounting) from University of North Texas, his MS in Accounting and Information Systems from Middle Tennessee State University, his MBA and MS in Finance from the University of Tampa, and his BBA in Accounting from Thammasat University. Prior to his career in academia, Attachot was a corporate accountant at ExxonMobil in Bangkok, Thailand. He previously served on the ICMA Exam Review Committee.
• Gary R. Brown, CMA, CPA – For the past 20 years, Brown has been the managing director of Georgetown, Texas-based Gary R. Brown CPA, LLC, which provides tax, accounting, and virtual CFO services. Before starting his own firm, Brown was vice president, finance, for Astec International Ltd. in Manila, Philippines, and a CFO at the Ralston Purina Company, initially in Mexico City and later for the Asia Pacific Region. Brown earned his MBA from Texas Tech University and his BS in Accounting from Montana State University.
• Benjamin H. Childers, CMA, CPA – Childers is manager of the Alliance, Ohio, office of HBK CPAs and Consultants. Before joining the company, Childers worked at MAC Trailer Enterprises, which he joined in 2011 as a member of the accounting department. Childers is a frequent presenter for the Ohio Society of CPAs and is currently a J.D. candidate at the University of Akron, where he expects to graduate in May 2019. He earned his MS in Forensic Accounting from New England College and his undergraduate degrees in Finance and Economics from Ohio University.
• Christopher C. Hernandez, CMA, CHFP – Hernandez has been the CFO for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA Health in Los Angeles, Calif., since 2013. Prior to that, he was operations director for The Trevor Project and before that, chief administrative officer at UCLA’s Office of Intellectual Property and Industry-Sponsored Research. Hernandez earned his MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University and his BA in Communication Studies from Loyola Marymount University. Before joining the ICMA Board of Regents, Hernandez served on the Exam Review Committee.
• Akomu Omoye Okoh, CMA, CSCA, ACA – Okoh is a finance analyst at Chevron Corporation in Houston, Texas, where she has worked since 2016. Before that position, she worked as a finance analyst at Chevron Nigeria and, prior to that, at Zenith Bank Nigeria and at PwC, where she began her career in 2005. Okoh earned her B.Sc., with honors, in Accounting from the University of Benin in Nigeria and her MBA, with distinction, from the Bradford University School of Management in the U.K. She previously served a term on the Exam Review Committee.

The major responsibility of the Board of Regents is to oversee the CMA program. Among its primary duties, the Board develops the overall strategy for the certification program, sets the requirements and policies for certification, reviews and revises exam questions as needed, oversees the administration of the exam, establishes the passing standards, and periodically reviews the content specifications for the exam and revises these specifications as appropriate.
