Educators: If your students have questions about the CMA^® (Certified Management Accountant) program, here’s a great place to find answers.

For the first time, IMA^® (Institute of Management Accountants) will host an “Ask Me Anything” virtual event on Reddit. The event will take place on Thursday, January 30, starting at noon EST. Anyone – students, educators, practitioners, and both IMA members and nonmembers alike – can participate. IMA’s Dennis Whitney, CMA, CAE, CFM, senior vice president of certifications, exams, and content integration, will be fielding the questions and providing answers in real-time to Reddit users.

To participate in the event, Reddit users can simply sign into the platform or create an account at www.reddit.com. The discussion can be found in Reddit’s Accounting community, which boasts more than 144,000 members: https://reddit.com/r/Accounting/. 

After the real-time event takes place, the discussion thread will live on the Reddit site for access to anyone who would like to view the questions and answers.

“We wanted to provide this opportunity to ask questions directly of our team and to give everyone access to the answers,” noted Whitney. “As more of our members engage in online platforms to get their information, this forum offers a new way to share information and to provide immediate answers.”

During IMA’s “Ask Me Anything,” participants may, indeed, ask anything. Popular lines of inquiry are expected to be the difference between public accounting and management accounting, the content of the new CMA 2020 exam, the unique value of the CMA, and more.
