IMA Announces Winners of 2023 Annual Global Awards


Montvale, N.J., June 13, 2023 —
  IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) announced today the winners of its annual Global Awards program during IMA’s Accounting & Finance Conference (IMA23). These awards acknowledge the accomplishments of IMA members who exemplify IMA’s mission and core values.

In the category of IMA Champion, which recognizes IMA members who have shown volunteer and leadership skills above and beyond what might be expected, IMA recognized five individuals: Emmylou Duell of the Finger Lakes chapter; Dr. Rinku Bhattacharya, CMA, CPA, of the Westchester Gateway chapter; Bernice Jenkins, CMA, CPA, of the Birmingham chapter; Shreyanse Jain, CMA, CA, of the Bangalore chapter; and Shari L. Neper, CMA, of the Minneapolis chapter.

The IMA Exemplary Global Board Member award recognizes a member of the IMA Global Board who demonstrates excellence as a board member through preparation, participation, and service. In this category, IMA recognized Charles R. Wright, CMA, CGMA, CPA, of the Denver – Centennial chapter.

In the category of IMA Exemplary Young Professional, which recognizes IMA young professionals with outstanding and creative approaches to problem solving within the accounting and finance profession, IMA recognized Arriane Steffi Garrote Bacon, CMA, of the Philippines chapter; Ashley Davis, CMA, CSCA, of the Minneapolis chapter; and Talia Khalifeh, CMA, of the Beirut chapter.

The IMA R. Lee Brummet Exemplary Educator award recognizes an IMA volunteer academic member who has distinguished themselves in the management accounting and finance profession. In this category, IMA recognized Dr. Madhavi Lokahnde, CMA, FCMA of the Bangalore chapter; and Dr. Sandra B. Richtermeyer, CMA, CPA, of the Boston chapter.
