ICMA Announces Leading Performers on CMA Certified Management Accountant Exam

Montvale, N.J. – ICMA® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants), the certification division of IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) announced the winners of its most recent round of CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) medals, recognizing the achievement of individuals in both the English and Simplified Chinese exam programs.
Of the 3,379 individuals who took the CMA exam in English during the January/February 2015 testing period, medals were awarded to the following individuals for their exceptional performance:
- Charles Gottschall of Hudson, Mich., received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score.
- Yu Cheng Chang of New Taipei City, Taiwan, and Zhe Li of Hubei, People’s Republic of China, both received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
- Christian Vogeli of Ennenda, Switzerland, received the ICMA Bronze Medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
For the English exam during this testing period, ICMA also awarded Certificates of Distinguished Performance to: David Corless of Provo, Utah; Jonathan Dahlman of Iowa City, Iowa; Randall Drager of Maple Grove, Minn.; Sukari Farrington of Huntington Beach, Calif.; Yi He of Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Qi Xu of Round Lake, Ill. In addition, Nanhui Gu of Hubei, China, received the Priscilla S. Payne Student Performance Award for achieving the highest score as a university student during this testing period.
“ICMA congratulates these award recipients for their exceptional achievement,” said Samuel C. Weaver, Ph.D., CMA, CFM, chair of ICMA Board of Regents. “This period’s group of recipients once again affirms the CMA program’s expanding geographic reach and the increasing global penetration of our certification. By becoming CMAs, these individuals have taken an important step to strengthen their own career outlook as well as contribute to the success of their respective organizations.”
Of the 2,235 individuals who took the two-part CMA exam in Simplified Chinese during the April 2015 testing period, ICMA recognized the following individuals for their outstanding performance:
- Xi Chen of Jiangxi and Feng Li of Anhui both received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score.
- Ling Ding of Shanghai received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
- Yu Wang of Sichuan received the ICMA Bronze medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
In addition, ICMA recognized the following individuals with Certificates of Distinguished Performance: Tianwei Cui of Jiangsu; Haibin Qi of Beijing; Chunbo Wu of Hebei; and Aiyun Zhang of Shandong. The Student Performance Award went to Xia Xiao of Beijing, who achieved the highest score as a university student during this testing period.
Weaver said, “We’re once again pleased to recognize the award recipients for our Chinese-language CMA exam program, which has experienced strong demand over the last few years. We expect this program will continue to attract employees at state-owned enterprises as well as other professionals seeking to enhance their skills in financial planning, analysis, control and decision support.”
