PAIB Advisory Group Explores Accountancy as a Passport to Meaningful Careers
The numerous opportunities available to accountants across all positions, locales, and sectors was the theme of the most recent gathering of IFAC’s Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB) Advisory Group in New York City. Composed of professional accountants with extensive and diverse experiences, the PAIB Advisory Group considers key global trends in the context of the issues facing chief financial officers and finance functions, as well as boards and their audit committees.
IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) now has two representatives on the PAIB Advisory Group: longtime member Esteban Quiros, from Costa Rica, and Maria del Dado Alonso Sanchez, from Spain, who was appointed in January 2023. Both Esteban and Dado have served terms on the IMA Global Board of Directors; Dado has also been a member of the ICMA Board of Regents.
The meeting in March focused on accountancy as a “passport to meaningful and rewarding careers in both the private and public sectors.” Over the course of its two-day meeting, the PAIB Advisory Group focused on the long-term value accountants create and the positive impact they have.
