ICMA Welcomes New Chair, Four New Members to Board of Regents
The ICMA® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) Board of Regents, the body that oversees the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) and CSCA® (Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis) programs, recently announced the appointment of a new Chair: Akomu Omoye Okoh, CMA, CSCA, CA, who will serve a two-year term from July 1, 2023, until June 30, 2025.
Omoye is currently a senior finance analyst at Chevron Nigeria Limited. Since joining Chevron in 2011, she has worked in Nigeria and the U.S. across various roles with increasing responsibilities, as well as coordinated finance training and digital transformation teams. She began her career 17 years ago with PwC in Nigeria as an associate and subsequently as a treasury analyst at Zenith Bank, Nigeria. Omoye earned her B.Sc., with honors, in accounting from the University of Benin in Nigeria and her MBA, with distinction, from Bradford University School of Management in the U.K. A member of the ICMA Board of Regents since 2018, Omoye is a member of the Global Markets Standing Board Committee on the IMA Global Board. She also served as an executive member of IMA’s Houston Chapter.
In addition, the Board of Regents appointed four new Regents to serve three-year terms effective July 1, 2023:
- Brian D. Conefrey, CMA, CSCA — Brian is currently the senior director of shared services at C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc., and is responsible for leading separate Accounts Receivable, Strategic Sourcing, and Print Shop departments. C&S, headquartered in Keene, N.H., is the nation's largest privately held food distributor. Brian holds a BBA from Worcester State University and an MBA from Nichols College. With more than 25 years of varied financial experience in the food distribution industry, he previously served three consecutive terms on the CMA Exam Review Committee and has presented at several IMA annual conferences.
- Dr. Ken McGee, CMA, CPA — Ken is currently the managing director at Magnus McGee LLC, a CPA and advisory firm that provides enterprise support to small businesses, entrepreneurs, corporations, and nonprofits. His professional experiences include holding several positions in corporate accounting, public accounting, governance, and higher education. As an accounting professor, he has promoted the CMA certification by serving as an IMA Campus Advocate. Ken earned a bachelor’s in accounting from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, a master’s in accounting from the University of Notre Dame, and a doctorate in finance from Anderson University.
- Daniel McNally, CMA — Daniel is currently the corporate controller for Darmann Abrasive Products, Inc., a manufacturing company based in Clinton, Mass. Prior to that, Daniel was the controller for Grove Pin Corporation, a metal connector manufacturer, and before that, the controller for Ultra Electronics Ocean Systems, Inc., a division of an international defense contractor. He is also a member of the IMA Small Business Committee. Daniel earned his BS from Bridgewater State College and his MBA from Bridgewater State University.
- Fady Rainier, CMA, CSCA, CPA — Fady is currently a senior financial analyst at Quotient Technology Inc. and, prior to that, a financial analyst at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield in Los Angeles. Driven by his passion for delivering strategic insights and optimizing financial performance, Fady has successfully collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop accurate forecasts, perform detailed variance analysis, and provide comprehensive financial reporting to senior management. Fady has been an active member of the ICMA Exam Review Committee since 2018. He earned his BBA in finance and graduated summa cum laude from The American University in Cairo.
The major responsibility of the Board of Regents is to oversee the CMA and CSCA programs. Among its primary duties, the Board develops the overall strategy for the certification program, sets the requirements and policies for certification, reviews and revises exam questions as needed, oversees the administration of the exam, establishes the passing standards, and periodically reviews the content specifications for the exam and revises these specifications as appropriate.
