(Institute of Management Accountants) recently announced the winners of its annual Global Awards program and Lifetime Achievement Award during the organization?s Virtual Annual Meeting of Members on June 24. These honors acknowledge the accomplishments of IMA members and accounting and finance professionals who exemplify IMA?s mission and core values.?

The Exemplary Global Board Member award recognizes a member of the IMA Global Board who demonstrates excellence as a board member through preparation, participation, and service. In this category, IMA recognized Rick S. Thompson, CMA, CFM, CPA, CTP, CIA, CFE, who most recently served on the IMA Board and is a longtime IMA volunteer.??
In the category of IMA Champion, which recognizes an IMA member who has shown volunteer and leadership skills above and beyond what might be expected, IMA recognized five individuals: Michael B. Lovelace, CMA, CPA, CISA, from the San Antonio Chapter; Purnima Mishra, CMA, CA, from the Switzerland Chapter; Lianne B. Loeks Munson, CMA, CSCA, from the Minneapolis Chapter; and Jaywardhan Semwal, CMA, and Varadarajan Guruprasad, CMA, ACMA (India), CA, both from the Bangalore Chapter.?
IMA bestowed this year?s Lifetime Achievement Award to Captain Larry White, CMA, CFM, CSCA, CPA, CGFM. The Lifetime Achievement award recognizes an IMA member who has demonstrated sustainable, extraordinary leadership and dedication to IMA over a lifetime of service.?
White is a former Chair of the IMA Global Board, serving during Fiscal Year 2004-2005. He is a longtime IMA volunteer, author of numerous IMA research reports and Strategic Finance articles, and has represented IMA on several international boards and committees.?
White is the executive director of the Resource Consumption Accounting (RCA) Institute, which educates and certifies individuals and organizations in the practice of RCA. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Captain with more than 28 years of service, including 21 years in financial management and accounting. He holds a bachelor?s degree from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and an MBA from Columbia University.?
