Come share your knowledge and expertise with your fellow IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) members. IMA is now seeking breakout presentation proposals for its Annual Conference & Expo (ACE2022), to be held June 12-15, 2022, at the JW Marriott in Austin, Texas. IMA is specifically looking for highly engaging sessions featuring experiential learning, peer collaboration, and innovative topics. Members who are interested should apply. Note that the deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, August 27, 2021.

To help with your proposal, please review the Speaker Submission Checklist along with the list of tracks with suggested topics. There will be two types of breakout sessions:

  • Specialty Tracks: 75-minute interactive and engaging presentation, including 10-15 minutes of Q&A.
  • Deep Dive Workshops: 150-minute interactive and engaging session with a combination of narrative, case studies, problem solving, and time allocated for Q&A.

“IMA plays a critical role in helping finance and accounting professionals thrive and grow in their careers. Our members can become part of that effort by sharing their expertise and knowledge at ACE2022. Serving as a breakout session speaker is a great way for members to enhance their presentation, leadership, and networking skills. They also gain the personal satisfaction of knowing they are helping to advance and impact the global management accounting community,” said LeighAnn Tobia, DES, CMP, IMA director of conferences and events.

Those selected as speakers will enjoy several benefits, including one complimentary ACE2022 Conference registration; a one-night stay at the JW Marriott Austin (one night per session); and a $500 stipend to defray travel expenses (one per session).

A group of IMA volunteers will review all proposals and select the final session speaker lineup during the fall. All speakers will be notified of the selection results by late November.

Proposals should be for breakout sessions only. For other types of sessions:

  • General Session Speakers: If you have a suggestion for a general session speaker, please email their name, brief description, and contact information to LeighAnn Tobia at ltobia@imanet.org.
  • Academic/Applied Research Speakers: Academic speakers should be advised that there will be a separate call-for-proposal request in the fall of 2021 to submit Applied Research topics for the Conference.
