IMA’s Education and Career Services (ECS) team continues to develop relevant e-learning courses covering a variety of trending topics to help members keep their skills sharp and remain relevant in the Digital Age.

All courses align with the six domains of the IMA Management Accounting Competency Framework and are available in e-learning self-study format.

Some of the recently released courses include:

IMA's RPA Series (2 NASBA CPE credits and a digital badge) – Each course of this four-course series focuses on one element of robotic process automation (RPA) to provide a step-by-step perspective on what it takes to bring RPA to an organization. Titles include: (1) RPA 101; (2) Governing RPA; (3) RPA: Value Creation; and (4) YOUR Role with RPA. In tandem with this series, IMA also released a research report and a Count Me In® podcast on the topic of RPA.

COSO Enterprise Risk Management: Essential to Organizational Success (2 NASBA CPE credits) – Based on the popular webinar presented by IMA’s CEO and President (Jeff Thomson) and 2020-2021 Global Board Chair-Elect (Steve McNally), this e-learning course provides an insightful overview on applying the COSO ERM Framework’s five components and 20 operating principles to drive organizational success. This course is available as a free member benefit.

Time Management (1 NASBA CPE credit) – While we all have the same 24 hours in the day, some people seem to get more done in those hours. What’s their secret? This course explains how to work smarter, not harder, by identifying time wasters and how to develop strategies for reducing them. It also examines techniques for creating an environment that can help professionals overcome time management challenges and enhance productivity. This course is available as a free member benefit.

“Providing timely, virtual, and convenient options for our members to continue their professional development while staying safe at home is a top priority for IMA,” said Debbie Warner, CAE, CPTD, IMA vice president of ECS. “As the calendar year winds down, we encourage all CMAs to explore our growing list of e-learning individual courses and packages as well as our webinar and virtual events to earn your annual 30 hours of CPE credits to maintain your certification.”

Over the next few months, ECS plans to launch other new courses, including “IMA Ethics Series: Can We Count on You?” and courses on professional and leadership development and cybersecurity. Warner also noted that to help members view the current ECS course offerings, the October 2020 issue of Strategic Finance magazine will include a printed course brochure, “Your Guide to Continuing Education.”
