Ginger White, CMA, CSCA, IMA?s 2018-2019 Global Board Chair, recently started a new phase of her professional journey: Effective May 1, 2019, she is now the Chief Operating Officer of the American Accounting Association (AAA).
In her new position, White is part of AAA?s leadership team, playing a key role as a member of AAA?s senior administrative staff, managing the internal operations of the organization, and reporting directly to AAA?s executive director. As COO, White is responsible for the overall operational and financial success of AAA; she also has direct line responsibility for a variety of key programs and functions within the organization, including meetings, publications, and all web and IT programs and services.
Jeff Thomson, CMA, CSCA, CAE, IMA president and CEO, said, ?We are very excited for Ginger and her new journey to serve the profession. IMA and AAA enjoy a long and rich history of collaboration, both having served our great profession for 100 years or more!?
AAA, headquartered in Sarasota, Fla., is the leading member-based community of accounting faculty and those interested in furthering the profession through educational and research initiatives. Founded in 1916, AAA has a rich history and global reputation built on leading-edge research and publications, a wide range of education initiatives, and strong networking communities.
White most recently spent 21 years at Cummins Inc., based in Columbus, Ind., where her last position was corporate purchasing finance director. Her prior roles at Cummins included Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Xtreme Pressure Injection (XPI) unit controller, Oracle finance project leader, and finance manager, among numerous others. As part of this change, White has relocated to Florida from her home state of Indiana.
?Serving as an IMA volunteer leader has provided me with great experience working with a nonprofit association, and for that, I?m exceptionally grateful for the opportunities IMA has given me,? said White. ?I?m eager to see how AAA and IMA can continue to pursue programs as well as new initiatives that jointly support our respective mission and goals for the profession.?
