ICMA® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) recently announced the winners of its most recent awards for both the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) and CSCA® (Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis) exams.

CMA Exam: English

Of the individuals who took the CMA exam in English during the January/February 2019 testing window, the following were recognized for their exceptional performance:

  • Reynald Espiritu Tomas, of Manila, Philippines, received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score.
  • Xingyuan Li, of Beijing, China, received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Rongrong Liang, of Shanghai, China, received the ICMA Bronze Medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
  • Tatyana Lozovatskaya, of Aurora, Colo.; and Jedalyn Sab-It Macwes, of Benguet, Philippines, both received an ICMA Certificate of Distinguished Performance.

In the student category, Ssu-Yu Chen, of East Lansing, Mich., and Zhilin Liu, of Singapore, both earned the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance Award for receiving the highest exam score as a student. The following students were awarded a Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance: Qi Chen, of Norfolk, Va.; Zhijie Hu, of Shenzhen, China; Kangjun Qiu, of Ningbo, China; and Jack Roman, of North Attleboro, Mass.

CMA Exam: Chinese

Of the individuals who took the CMA exam in Simplified Chinese during the April 2019 testing period, ICMA recognized the following for their outstanding performance:

  • Ting Fang received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score. 
  • Zhiyang Yu received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Songqing Yuan received the ICMA Bronze Medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
  • Lijuan Zhao and Liran Chen both received an ICMA Certificate of Distinguished Performance.

In the student category, Yawei Song earned the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance Award for receiving the highest exam score as a student. The following students were awarded a Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance: Yanyan Feng; Ran Lei; Jiaqi Lin; and Rui Lin

“ICMA extends its congratulations to these awards winners, who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence, leadership, and to broadening their professional skill set,” said Paul Juras, CMA, CPA, Ph.D., chair, ICMA Board of Regents. “As in prior award periods, we continue to see the strength of the CMA program in regions outside of the U.S., where high-performing accounting and finance professionals around the world are pursuing the CMA for career advancement and in order to become more valuable contributors within their respective organizations.” 

CSCA Exam

Of the individuals who took the CSCA exam during the March 2019 testing window, the following were recognized for their outstanding performance:

  • Jonathan C. Baker, of Lewisville, Texas, received the CSCA Gold Award for achieving the highest exam score.
  • Heinrich Dietmar Viktor Blumenthal, of Zurich, Switzerland, received the CSCA Silver Award for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Andrei Iorgulescu, of Bucharest, Romania, received the CSCA Bronze Award for achieving the third-highest exam score.

“The CSCA credential provides solid grounding in the specific discipline of strategic planning, offering an excellent complement to those CMAs who want to extend their knowledge in this area,” commented Juras. “Congratulations to these award winners who performed so well on this rigorous exam.”

CMAs are encouraged to start preparing now to take the CSCA exam and earn this important credential. The closing date to register for the September 2019 exam window is September 15, 2019
