IMA Europe hosted several popular events over the past few months, including a CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) information session and a Finance Transformation International Conference in Amsterdam.

Upskill for Success with the CMA
 
On 8 February, IMA Europe hosted a virtual discussion titled “Upskill for Success with the CMA,” which focused on why earning the CMA could be “your next career power move.” The discussion provided valuable knowledge to help attendees pass the exam, including information on exam content and study tips, as well as how the CMA can put you on the path to greater career opportunities in the Digital Age.

The well-attended session also covered virtual and onsite review providers in Europe, plus onsite and remote test-taking options. Watch a video of the discussion on YouTube.

Finance Transformation: Amsterdam

On 8 March, IMA Europe hosted its in-person Finance Transformation International Conference at the Van der Valk Amsterdam-Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam. Sponsored by Workiva, the event attracted IMA members and prospective members from the Netherlands and surrounding countries, enabling attendees to hear from leading practitioners, share experiences, and network with other professionals navigating the challenges of digital transformation in finance.

Featured speakers included Russ Porter, CMA, CFM, CSCA, CFO and SVP, strategy, technology, and analytics at IMA, who spoke on the topic of “The CFO of the Future.”

Also featured was a panel on “Sustainable Business Management for the Management Accounting Profession,” moderated by Brigitte de Graaff, CMA, CSCA, Global Board member and chair of the Global Sustainable Business Management Global Task Force, IMA; president, IMA Amsterdam Chapter; CMA lecturer and Ph.D. candidate, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Panelists included: Jerôme de la Chambre, manager sustainability, McDonald’s; Marcus Looijenga, director, sustainability reporting & assurance, PwC; and Andromeda Wood, vice president of regulatory strategy, Workiva.

The event concluded with a presentation on “Sharing Personal Transformation Experiences,” led by Guido Dubbeld, former group chief financial officer, Eneco; member of the Supervisory Board, RET; member of the Supervisory Board, Invest International.

Opening remarks were provided by Alain Mulder, senior director, IMA Europe operations; and closing remarks, followed by time for networking, were by Jim Gurowka, CAE, senior vice president, global business development, IMA.
