IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) is taking the news about its globally respected CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) certification on the road.

As part of an initiative to increase awareness about the CMA among the business community and organizations in Europe, Alain Mulder, IMA director of European operations, will be conducting numerous “CMA information sessions” in select European cities this fall. The schedule is as follows:

  • September 24: Athens, Greece, at the offices of Globaltraining. A representative from Wiley Publishing will also be joining Mulder for the presentation.
  • October 8: London, UK. This session is intended to discuss self-study and online exam review options. A representative from Wiley will also attend.
  • October 30: Paris, France, at the offices of Top Finance. A representative from Wiley will also attend.
  • November 25 (tentative date): Kazachstan, at the offices of Deka Controlling.

IMA conducted its first CMA information session in June at Staan Academy, at Amsterdam Noord.

IMA’s CMA certification is a relevant assessment of advanced accounting and financial management knowledge in critical areas such as financial planning, analysis, control, and decision support. Earning the CMA requires education, experience, and passing a thorough two-part exam, one that covers 11 of the most critical practice areas that are most in demand by organizations around the world. Beginning in January 2020, the CMA curriculum will change to cover 12 practice areas. More information about the CMA can be found at www.imanet.org/cma-certification.

Commenting about the purpose of this initiative and results thus far, Mulder said, “We look forward to sharing information with our members and the broader business community in Europe about the content of the CMA exam and the benefits of earning this highly respected certification. We have already conducted several of these presentations, beginning with our initial meeting in Amsterdam, to very positive results. For nearly 50 years, the CMA has helped to close the talent gap in management accounting, preparing our members to expand their career and earning potential while also delivering value to their respective organizations."
