IMA Russia Chapter
On 4 October, nearly 80 attendees participated in the first IMA Russia Chapter event in 2018. The event was held in Moscow. Alain Mulder, director, IMA Europe operations, delivered a presentation titled, “Future-Proof Your Career: Staying Relevant in the Digital Age,” which discussed how to prepare for a career in which automation will play the major role. We will hold the next IMA Russia event in January. Stay tuned for the date.

IMA Switzerland Chapter
More than 50 participants from the DACH region gathered for “A TRIP Around the World of Accounting” in Zurich, featuring a presentation by IMA president and CEO Jeff Thomson, CMA, CSCA, CAE, on 6 November. The evening was opened by Hessel Brouwer, president of IMA’s Switzerland Chapter, who gave an update on recent chapter activities. Later, participants had a chance to listen to a very interesting presentation by Prof. Dr. Thomas Rautenstrauch, head of the Center for Accounting & Controlling, HWZ University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich, titled, “New Challenges Facing the Future CFO.” Attendees were able to take a short trip around the world of accounting with a presentation by Thomson, who also passed out CMA certificates to newly certified management accountants in the region. At the end of the event, Pascal Peter, CMA, one of IMA’s esteemed advocates, received the IMA Voluntary Service Award in recognition of his efforts and contributions to IMA on the global and European levels.

IMA French Chapter
We were very pleased to hold the IMA French Chapter’s last event of the year at IÉSEG School of Management in Paris on 7 November. More than 80 participants arrived for a presentation by Jeff Thomson. During the event IÉSEG School of Management, represented by Associate Professor Raul Barroso, was officially honored as the first institution in France endorsed by the IMA Higher Education Endorsement Program. Congratulations!
