For the second consecutive year, IMA^® (Institute of Management Accountants) is challenging members with its “You’ve Got to Earn It” Video Contest. The 2018 theme, which complements IMA’s latest advertising campaign (now running in major U.S. markets and available for viewing here), asks participants to answer the question: “In the face of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation in the workplace, in what ways does the CMA^® (Certified Management Accountant) certification prepare you for the future and how does it ‘future-proof’ your career?”

All IMA members are invited to develop a 30-second to two-minute video that focuses on issues such as: What do you think the future of the profession will look like? What will be your career trajectory in the future with the CMA? How will the CMA benefit management accountants in the workplace of the future?

Videos (which can be shot using an iPhone, Android, GoPro, DSLR, or video camera) can take a variety of approaches, including an entertaining or informational video, a career video, or any other creative format. For ideas, you can view last year’s winners.

The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2018. IMA’s panel of independent judges will review all the videos and select the finalists. Finalist videos will be featured on IMA’s Facebook page for voting on February 19, 2018, and the winning video will be announced on March 1, 2018. The winning video will be screened at IMA’s Annual Conference & Expo in Indianapolis on June 16-20, 2018, and also posted on IMA’s Facebook channel.

Prizes for the top entries include (in USD):

• First (Grand Prize): $2,500 plus travel costs for up to five team members to attend IMA’s Annual Conference. All team members will also receive the Wiley CMAexcel CMA Review Course Scholarship (valued at $1,795).
• Second: $1,500 and team members (up to five) will also receive the Wiley CMAexcel Online Intensive Review with CMA Test Bank Scholarship ($470 value)
• Third: $1,000 and team members (up to five) will also receive the Wiley CMAexcel Online Intensive Review with CMA Test Bank Scholarship ($470 value)
• Up to 5 Honorable Mention prizes: $100 Visa Gift Card
