As part of IMA’s annual Young Professional Leadership Experience program, five young professionals under age 33 will be selected to attend IMA’s Global Board of Directors and Committee meeting at IMA’s headquarters in Montvale, N.J., from October 19-22, 2017.
The young professionals chosen to attend will have the exclusive opportunity to network with senior volunteer leaders, learn about IMA’s strategic direction, and witness how the Governance structure of a not-for-profit operates. IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) will cover all travel expenses and meals for the duration of the trip.
“The purpose of this experience is to engage young professional members to understand how professional volunteer work can help them in their career while giving back to the profession,” explained Pat Stefanczyk, CAE, IMA vice president of governance and volunteer relations. “This is a wonderful program for young professionals to get involved and grow as IMA leaders.”
During the three-day program, attendees will experience the inner workings of IMA’s Global Board of Directors; meet with IMA’s Global Board Chairs and President and CEO; and participate in committee meetings and IMA’s Global Board meeting.
Those who are chosen will walk away with a unique experience and a support network of prominent, senior industry leaders who can act as future mentors and advisors.
