IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) held its Virtual 2020 Student Leadership Conference (SLC) on November 13. More than 1,300 registrants from nearly 300 schools from across the globe had the opportunity to gather virtually in what is certainly an unprecedented time. The event provided valuable opportunities for attendees to gain insights from inspiring speakers and for students to connect with potential employers for internships and full-time positions at the virtual career expo.

Presentations covered a wide range of topics on leadership, technology, employee benefits, and the value of the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) certification.

“We thank everyone who helped make this virtual SLC such a resounding success,” said Jodi Ryan, CAE, IMA director of student engagement. “The virtual format enabled many people to participate who might not have been otherwise able to attend an in-person event.

“We are grateful to the presenters for sharing their time and expertise, as well as the sponsors and exhibitors who provided students the opportunity to learn more about their organizations. We are also thankful to SCMS and the many IMA members, chapters, and councils who financially supported the event. We hope that attendees enjoyed the conference and made valuable new connections.”
