IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) offers various live event opportunities to help candidates learn more about and prepare for the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) exam.

The one-hour live virtual webinar was held on October 22 and focused on the multiple-choice section of the exam. Featured speakers included Amy Ford, CMA, CPA, senior instructor, Western Illinois University; and Robert Cooper, CMA, senior financial analyst, Southwire Company. They joined hosts Mitra Kleinberg and Darren Zwick, IMA strategic partnership managers, to discuss:

  • What topics are tested on the exam.
  • How to decide if you are ready to take the exam right now—or if you need more preparation.
  • Suggestions for creating a study plan that works for YOU.
  • What to expect on the day of your test.
  • Helpful tips for doing well on the multiple-choice section, using actual retired questions.

IMA also recently held its popular “Upskill with the CMA” live event on September 16, featuring a panel of CMAs who discussed the certification’s value to their careers and organizations. Topics included:

  • The changing role of the modern CFO’s organization
  • The benefits of earning the CMA
  • The content and structure of the CMA exam
  • Steps to becoming a CMA

Hosted by Kleinberg and Zwick, the discussion featured the following accomplished panelists:
