IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) offers various webinars to help candidates learn about and prepare for the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) exam.
CMA Candidate Webinar Series
Success on the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) exam requires knowledge, time management skills, an understanding of how the exam is graded, and insight into what to expect at the testing center. All of these details were covered during IMA’s most recent CMA Candidate Series webinar, held on April 18, 2024. The one-hour webinar, titled, “The CMA Exam: Test-Taking Tips and Strategies” covered topics such as:
- What topics are tested on the exam
- If you’re ready to take the exam right now—or if you need more preparation
- How to create a study plan that works for YOU
- What to expect on the day of your test
- Helpful tricks for answering multiple-choice questions, using actual retired questions
The webinar, hosted by IMA Manager of Strategic Partnerships Mitra Kleinberg, featured speakers Olga Thomson, CMA, internal controls analyst at Cargill; and Amy Ford, CMA, CPA, senior instructor at Western Illinois University. “Upskill with the CMA” Webinar
For those looking to learn more about the CMA exam, IMA offered its “Upskill with the CMA” webinar on March 4. Don’t worry if you missed it: The next “Upskill with the CMA” is planned for September 16, 2024, at 12 p.m. ET. Watch your email for details.
During the March 4 discussion, participants had the opportunity to hear from CMAs as they explore why the CMA is a global passport, helping to create true business partners that drive strategy and decision making. The discussion also featured a “fireside chat” with three panelists, all CMAs working in a variety of roles and industries, who will discuss the value of the CMA to their careers and their organizations. Discussion topics included:
- The changing role of the modern CFO’s organization
- The benefits of earning the CMA
- The content and structure of the CMA exam
- The steps to becoming a CMA
