CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) candidates are advised of the following important announcements:

Registration for Upcoming 2022/2023 Testing Windows

Registration for the September/October 2022 testing window is open and will remain so until October 15, 2022. You can also register for the January/February 2023 testing window at this time. To register to take the CMA exam during these testing periods, please visit the exam registration page.

Exam Prep Resources

All candidates preparing for the exam are reminded about the helpful CMA Resources page on the IMA website, which features useful videos, practice questions, study guides, webinars, and other resources to help candidates pass the exam.

Candidates should also become familiar with the CMA Handbook, which contains all the information about the exam program, requirements, scores, etc. Many candidate questions are answered in this handbook.

The IMA website also has information about the new remote testing option.

Prometric Policies and Updates

Most Prometric Test Centers around the world are open: View the complete list of open Prometric Test Centers. Note: This list is subject to change.

Prometric recently instituted an enhanced exam scheduling system, ProScheduler. This new system allows you to search the availability of testing center seats by ZIP code, schedule/reschedule your exam, or cancel your appointment.

In an effort to comply with regional and local/government guidance and mandates, some Prometric locations are now requiring candidates to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination at check-in. Candidates testing at these identified sites should be prepared to present the documentation provided to them by their healthcare provider at the time of vaccination. Prometric will update this list on a regular basis.

Effective May 1, Prometric will no longer require masks to be worn in test centers.

Note that Prometric has specific policies in place for all CMA candidates taking the exam at a Prometric Test Center. More information can be found on the test center policies page. Have more questions regarding testing sites and COVID-19? Go to the Prometric FAQ page. You can also check out this what to expect on test day video, which provides a detailed overview of what to expect during your visit to a Prometric Test Center.

Candidate Conduct

Question Sharing: Sharing CMA multiple-choice and essay exam questions with others after taking the exam is a violation of ICMA’s examinee conduct policy and is considered cheating. CMA candidates will be expelled from the CMA program if they disclose CMA exam questions:

  • To other candidates
  • To review course providers
  • On social media or any other online forum

Cheating: Examinees who are caught cheating will have their grades invalidated and will be expelled from the CMA program. Cheating includes copying answers during the exam, using unauthorized materials during the exam, helping another candidate during the exam, removing exam materials from the testing room, disclosing exam questions to others, and/or falsifying credentials.

Copyright Violation: In addition, any reproduction, reuse, or distribution of CMA review course materials without prior written permission from the publisher is illegal and a material violation of the IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice. A CMA candidate who reproduces, reuses, or distributes CMA materials without prior authorization from the publisher is subject to legal action as well as expulsion from the CMA program.

Violation of these policies is also a violation of IMA’s ethics policy and will result in expulsion from IMA.
