The CMA^® (Certified Management Accountant) Candidate Webinar Series provides insights and tips to help candidates prepare for and pass the exam. The next webinar in the series, “The CMA Exam: Navigating Multiple-Choice Questions,” will be held in just a few days: on Tuesday, October 27, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. EDT. The cost is free, but registration is required.

During this interactive session, attendees will get hands-on experience with actual (retired) CMA exam multiple-choice questions. Candidates will also learn about the exam content and process from an IMA^® (Institute of Management Accountants) expert, and then see if they have what it takes to earn a passing score on the multiple-choice section by playing an interactive game with an accounting professor. After attending the webinar, candidates should be able to:

• Understand the content and topics tested on the exam
• Identify sections of the exam for which they already have a good understanding
• Develop a game plan for their CMA exam preparation 

The webinar will be led by Lisa Beaudoin, CMA, CSCA, CAE, IMA senior director of business development; Amy Ford, CMA, CPA, senior associate faculty member, Western Illinois University; and Luis Martinez Luna, CMA, senior corporate FP&A analyst, Bose Corporation.

“Our presentation is based on our many years of experience working with CMA candidates on helpful strategies for approaching the multiple-choice portion of the exam,” said Beaudoin. “We’ll be able to share tips and strategies that have worked in the past as well as answer questions from attendees. All CMA candidates are encouraged to attend.”

Candidates can also listen to an archived version of the most recent CMA candidate webinar, “The CMA Exam Essays: Everything You Need to Know!” held on August 18. This presentation, hosted by Beaudoin and Sue Mullen, CMA, CSCA, CPA, professional instructor, Ashland University, focused on how to optimize performance on the essay section of the exams for a better score, including areas such as:

• How to best prepare for the essay section of the exam
• How to maximize your point-earning potential on each essay
• How to manage your time wisely

Also available in recorded format is the third webinar in the series, “The CMA Exam: Test-Taking Tips and Strategies,” which took place on April 28. It featured presenters Beaudoin; Ford; and Brent Streeter, CMA, director of finance, TE Connectivity. They discussed effective study approaches, time management strategies, and what to expect at the Prometric Testing Center.
