ICMA® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) announced the winners of its most recent CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) awards, recognizing, in separate categories, professional and student members who participated in the English and Simplified Chinese exam programs.

English Exam: Professional Category

Of the 5,998 individuals who took the CMA exam in English during the September/October 2017 testing window, the following professionals were recognized for their exceptional performance:

  • Daniel Markham Ray, of Brookhaven, Ga., received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score.
  • Carla Vanessa Santiago Legaspi, of Papua New Guinea, received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Matthew Doiron, of Boston, Mass., received the ICMA Bronze Medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
  • Ye Ding, of Chestnut Hill, Mass., and Nicholas Charles Noble, of Oviedo, Fla., both received an ICMA Certificate of Distinguished Performance.

English Exam: Student Category

In the student category, Erika Joy Martinez Legaspi, of Dasmariñas City, Philippines, earned the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance Award for receiving the highest exam score as a student.

The following students were awarded a Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance: Erdal Altintas, of Ankara, Turkey; Kylie A. Bennett, of New London, Wis.; Melljonh Maglinao Pesigan, of San Antonio, Philippines; and Pratik Balasaheb Sandbhor, of Satara, India.

Chinese Exam: Professional Category

Of the 9,471 individuals who took the CMA exam in Simplified Chinese during the November 2017 testing period, ICMA recognized the following professionals for their outstanding performance:

  • Chenyu Wu received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score.
  • Yongrong Liu received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Xiumin Zhang received the ICMA Bronze Medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
  • Yajun Chang and Lipeng Tian both received an ICMA Certificate of Distinguished Performance.

Chinese Exam: Student Category

In the student category, Jiali Liao earned the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance Award for receiving the highest exam score as a student.

The following students were awarded a Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance: Aiying Huang, Xuelian Wang, Anyi Xu, and Yilin Yin.

“ICMA congratulates these award recipients for their outstanding achievement, as we are pleased to recognize the distinct accomplishments of those in both our professional and student member categories,” said Paul Juras, CMA, CPA, Ph.D., chair, ICMA Board of Regents. “As these winners attest, the CMA certification continues to extend its global reach – in fact, we had our first-ever medal winner from Papua New Guinea this period. All of these award winners, as well as everyone who took the exam during this testing period, are commended for their commitment to improving their individual career outlooks and helping contribute to the success of their organizations.”

He continued, “We also are pleased to recognize those award winners in our Simplified Chinese exam program. We recently celebrated the 10-year anniversary of this program, which is attracting individuals from state-owned and other organizations at a rapid rate. These individuals – both students and professionals – are helping to strengthen the Chinese economy and enhance their own career trajectories.”
