Sunil Deshmukh, CMA, is Chair of IMA’s Global Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 fiscal year. In this role, he serves as chair of the Governance Standing Board Committee and as a member of the Nominating Standing Board Committee.

Deshmukh consults and advises organizations, both for profit and nonprofit, primarily on leadership development, business strategy, and leadership/executive coaching. Deshmukh is currently based in India, but in his 30-year career, he has worked in consumer markets in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, developing business strategies, managing operations, and providing board-level oversight and governance. He has served in various leadership positions (CFO, Managing Director, CEO) with multinational companies and large family-managed organizations across many geographic regions and industry segments.

Deshmukh holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Marathwada University, a bachelor’s degree in law from Symbiosis Law College at Pune University, and a master’s degree in commerce from Pune University. He is an International Coach Federation (ICF) USA Associate Certified Coach (ACC), a Certified Executive Coach-Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching (MGSCC), and a Senior Practitioner from EMCC Global.

An IMA member since 2010, Deshmukh earned his CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) that same year. He has been a member of IMA’s Global Board of Directors since 2021, where he has served as chair of the Nominating Standing Board Committee and as a member of the Governance Standing Board Committee and the Strategic Planning Standing Board Committee. Deshmukh has also served as president of IMA’s Mumbai and Pune Chapters; past dean of the IMA Mentoring Subcommittee; Board liaison for the IMA Research Foundation; and member of the IMA CEO Search Committee. He is also a member of the IMA Leadership Academy, specifically as a webinar contributor, moderator, and presenter.

Mike DePrisco is the President and CEO of IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants). DePrisco brings more than 30 years of leadership experience to his role and is excited to help IMA grow further as one of the most influential finance and accounting associations worldwide. IMA has a global network of about 140,000 members in 150 countries and 350 professional and student chapters.

Prior to joining IMA, DePrisco served as the COO of Project Management Institute (PMI), where he provided executive leadership to the operations of the global organization, supporting more than 2 million certification holders, 680,000 members, and 300 chapters from over 200 countries. DePrisco led a diverse global team with a focus on membership and community growth & retention, certification, digital products, and successful execution of major initiatives. He also served as interim President and CEO in 2021-2022.

DePrisco initially joined PMI in 2013 as vice president of academic and educational programs before expanding his scope and responsibility to vice president of global membership & chapters and vice president global solutions. He also served as COO of the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF) for seven years.

Before PMI, DePrisco spent 20 years in various leadership & executive roles in higher education in the U.S.

DePrisco earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and has earned additional certifications in international business and digital strategy.
