Young Professional Leadership Experience

We are offering a small group of select young professionals (under age 40) the opportunity to participate in a global leadership experience. Those chosen will enjoy a first-hand look into the inner workings of IMA’s volunteer programs and participate in local and regional events led by IMA chapters. This will be a commitment of nine months, from October 2023 to June 2024. Participants will attend volunteer-led meetings where they will meet IMA staff and volunteer leaders, contribute ideas, and gain valuable leadership experience.

To participate in the Young Professional Leadership Experience, you must be an IMA professional member in good standing, a CMA or CMA candidate, and have an interest in volunteering with us to build leadership skills. Applications will be reviewed in October 2023.

We will select a small group of young professionals in October to participate in the program, and participants will attend “Governance 101” training prior to attending (virtually) IMA Volunteer Leadership Committee and Global Board meetings in February 2024. Those selected must be able to attend both meetings. Participants will also engage in various activities throughout the program, including being paired with an IMA mentor and introduction to local chapter/council leaders. IMA will cover all travel expenses for participants to attend local/regional events. Participants will work together on a group assignment to be presented to the Volunteer Leadership Committee in May 2024.
