Members should know about two upcoming events in Europe:

EAA Conference

IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) will be participating in and serving as a gold-level sponsor of the 42nd Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA), which will be held in the coastal city of Paphos, Cyprus. The congress is being organized by the University of Cyprus and will take place at the conference facilities of the Aliathon Holiday Village Hotel on 29-31 May.

The EAA Annual Congress 2019 will feature a variety of networking opportunities as well as the presentation of papers on a variety of accounting and finance related topics, including management accounting.

At the congress, Frank Verbeeten, professor of accounting at the University of Amsterdam and IMA honorary professor, will lead a seminar, featuring several prominent researchers, on the impact of technology on management accountants and the potential research avenues on this important topic. Alain Mulder, IMA director of European operations, will introduce the seminar as well as discuss the role of technology in finance and IMA’s enhanced Management Accounting Competency Framework.

Upcoming Chapter Annual Meetings
