Standing Advisory Committees
IMA’s Standing Advisory Committees are chartered working groups of volunteer leaders with a defined purpose. These committees help us deliver our mission and vision and advance the profession in a variety of ways. We accept applications for Standing Advisory Committee positions year-round, with appointments made each spring for the upcoming fiscal year. Committee service terms are one- to two-year commitments.
Sustainable Business Management Committee (SBM)
IMA's Sustainable Business Management Committee has three focus areas: (1) advocacy on behalf of the profession; (2) developing thought leadership, professional content, and educational materials; and (3) supporting IMA's organizational efforts around sustainable business information and management and ESG reporting.

Global Awards and Leadership Experience Selection Committee (GALESC)
The GALESC committee is responsible for reviewing Global Award and Leadership Experience nominations and selecting recipients, through a fair and effective process, in fact and in appearance, on an annual basis, who reflect IMA’s Mission and Global Core Values.

IMA Accounting and Finance Conference Program Committee
IMA’s Accounting and Finance Program Committee works with staff to develop the learning program for IMA’s largest annual event. The committee evaluates and selects the concurrent session speakers to ensure a relevant, balanced learning experience for attendees.

Component Engagement Roundtable (CER)
The IMA Component Engagement Roundtable was developed for local volunteers to serve as a conduit for local components and be the voice of its members to IMA’s Global Board.

In line with IMA’s vision, the DE&I Committee works to create a community among IMA’s stakeholders that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization and the profession.

The Committee on Academic Relations’ (CAR) main focus is to enhance and grow the IMA Higher Education Endorsement Program as well as promote IMA and CMA certification among academic leaders.
