IMA Welcomes Eight New Endorsed Schools for 2021

Montvale, N.J., February 3, 2021 – IMA^® (Institute of Management Accountants), one of the largest and most respected associations focused exclusively on advancing the management accounting profession, is proud to announce that eight new colleges and universities have earned the distinction of IMA Endorsed Schools. These schools have been recognized for their support of students pursuing and earning the CMA^® (Certified Management Accountant) credential and preparing students for successful careers in management accounting.

Since April 2020, the following schools have earned the distinction from seven states and two countries:

• Assumption College (Worcester, Mass.)
• Kansas State University (Manhattan, Kansas)
• NEOMA Business School (Reims, Rouen, and Paris, France)
• Utah Valley University (Orem, Utah)
• Colorado State University Global (Aurora, Colo.)
• Texas A&M University-Commerce (Commerce, Texas)
• Suffolk University (Boston)
• Morgan State University (Baltimore)

To date, approximately 100 colleges and universities—institutions in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania— have been endorsed under the IMA program. Morgan State became the first HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) to earn the distinction in August 2020. 

“High-quality educational programs like those at these endorsed institutions help future management accountants achieve their career goals and meet the competency expectations of today’s employers,” said Raef Lawson, Ph.D., CMA, CPA, CFP, IMA vice president of research and professor-in-residence. “We continue to encourage qualified programs to apply for IMA endorsement and earn this distinctive recognition.”

IMA’s Endorsement of Higher Education initiative recognizes programs that meet high educational standards, enabling students to pursue and earn the CMA. Information about the program is available at https://www.imanet.org/endorsement.
