ICMA® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) recently announced the winners of its most recent awards for the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) exam in both English and Chinese as well as awards for the CSCA® (Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis) exam.

CMA Exam: English

Of the individuals who took the CMA exam in English during the August-November 2020 testing window, the following were recognized for their exceptional performance:

  • Seanne Veniene Celestino Esguerra, of Pampanga, Philippines, received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score.
  • Yu Zhang, of New York, N.Y., received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Jhomelyn Vanessa Ramos Fernandez, CMA, CPA, of Bulacan, Philippines, received the ICMA Bronze Medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
  • Marc Rodolf Briol Arca, of Manila, Philippines; Gautam Kumaraswamy, CMA, of Kingston, Jamaica; and Yinan Zhang, CMA, of Singapore, received an ICMA Certificate of Distinguished Performance.

In the student category, Wei Ming Kendrick Low, of Singapore, received the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance Award for receiving the highest exam score as a student. The following students were awarded a Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance: Ramon Bisang, of Rothenburg, Switzerland; Angel John Fua Geronimo, of Manila, Philippines; and Dardan Mazreku, of Erlinsbach, Switzerland.

Of the individuals who took the CMA exam in English during the January-February 2021 testing window, the following were recognized for their exceptional performance:

  • Matthew Shakowski, CMA, of Spring Valley, Calif., received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score.
  • Mark William Donohue, of Daniel Island, S.C.; and Yi Li, CMA, of Shanghai, China, received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Emir Balkan, CMA, of Istanbul, Turkey, received the ICMA Bronze Medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
  • Robbie Pastor Joaquin, of Cavite, Philippines; and Christine Anne Villa Roa, of Quezon City, Philippines, received an ICMA Certificate of Distinguished Performance.

In the student category, Matthew Weber, CMA, of Roswell, Ga., received the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance Award for receiving the highest exam score as a student. The following students were awarded a Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance: Chandana Bose, of Kerala, India; Tincy James, of Kerala, India; Cody K. Kieta, of Houston, Texas; and Xiaofeng Wang, CMA, of Manchester, United Kingdom.

CMA Exam: Chinese 

Of the individuals who took the Chinese-language CMA exam in December 2020, ICMA recognized the following for their outstanding performance:

  • Hua Lan received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score. 
  • Liping Cao and Yunjie Jia both received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Xu Han; Mingyu Zhang; and Ting Zhao received an ICMA Certificate of Distinguished Performance.

In the student category, Yuhe Qiu earned the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance Award for receiving the highest exam score as a student. The following students were awarded a Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance: Chang Chen; Yukun Han; Jinyang Li; and Kaidi Xu

Of the individuals who took the Chinese-language CMA exam in April 2021, ICMA recognized the following for their outstanding performance:

  • Zhongbo Wang received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score. 
  • Huishuang Dong and Jinghang Li both received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Jinglong Ma and Tingting Xiao received an ICMA Certificate of Distinguished Performance.

In the student category, Yuefeng Zhang and Wenling Ge earned the Priscilla S. Payne Outstanding Student Performance Award for receiving the highest exam score as a student. The following students were awarded a Student Certificate of Distinguished Performance: Juan Li; Xiaoqing Li; and Yijian Zhang

CSCA Exam

Of the individuals who took the CSCA exam during the March 2021 testing window, the following were recognized for their outstanding performance: 

  • Elie Tabet, of Elissar-Metn, Lebanon, received the CSCA Gold Award for achieving the highest exam score.
  • Mason Zechariah Brady, CMA, CSCA, of Visalia, Calif.; and Russell S. Porter, CMA, CFM, CSCA, of Ridgefield, Conn., received the CSCA Silver Award for achieving the second-highest exam score.
  • Nicholas H. Kim, CFM, CSCA, of New York, N.Y., received the CSCA Bronze Award for achieving the third-highest exam score.

Riess, CMA, CFM, CPA, CPIM, CSCP, chair, ICMA Board of Regents, remarked, “Performing well on an exam like the CMA or CSCA is difficult under any circumstances, but it’s especially challenging in the midst of a global pandemic.
