  1. How did you first come across the CMA and what made you decide to go for it?

At one of my annual performance review meetings, my manager and I were discussing different ways to enhance my technical knowledge and skills, and he suggested studying for a certification. Since my professional life revolves around operational finance, CMA was the easy and only choice! :-)

  2. In what ways has CMA made an impact on your career or professional journey?

Passing rigorous exams and receiving my CMA provided me with the reassurance and validation I needed early in my career to help me not question the applicability of my foreign college education to the realities of corporate America.

Being certified in the U.S. fueled my confidence and inspired me to keep challenging myself inside and outside of my organization, which opened up a lot of growth opportunities both professionally and personally.

  3. What is your proudest career moment or milestone as a CMA?

My proudest and the most recent milestone as a CMA was to get appointed to the position of Global Director on the IMA Global Board of Directors for the 2017-2018 term.

  4. What’s the best piece of advice you would give to CMA hopefuls?

Receiving your CMA certification will be the best investment you’ll make in yourself. It’s well worth the effort. Keep your eye on the prize and enjoy the journey!

  5. For those taking the exam, what study tip(s) can you share?

Practice, practice, practice! A vital part of passing the exam is being able to perform under severe time pressure. The more familiar you are with the test format, the easier it will be to separate relevant information from irrelevant in those lengthy test questions and win some precious time. Remember, each minute counts!

  6. If you could have one superpower in the world, what would it be?

    That’s an easy one :-)

My superpower of choice would definitely be teleportation. I love traveling and exploring all corners of our beautiful world. Being able to teleport wherever and whenever I want would save me so much time and unnecessary hassle that I spend on getting to my destination in a conventional way.
