Raise Your Earning Power. Stay Informed About Industry Earnings with IMA
IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) is committed to empowering finance and accounting professionals to accelerate their careers. In the newly developed Salary Information section of its website, IMA offers various resources to help professionals assess and learn more about earnings potential. The website some includes several valuable features, including: IMA Salary Surveys, access to the Robert Half Salary Center, and IMA’s CareerDriver®. Find the key information you need to better understand earnings by visiting IMA’s website at imanet.org/salary_survey.
For starters, visitors to IMA’s website will have an opportunity to review annual global, country, and regional salary reports. The recently published 2016 Global Salary Survey revealed that more than 80% of finance professionals worldwide believe the CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) certificate creates career opportunities and strengthens their ability to move across all areas of the business. This is especially true for young accountants. CMAs in their 20s boast a 50% higher base salary, and 50-61% more in total compensation when compared to their non-certified peers.
From a global perspective, members may also zero-in on specific countries and/or regions for salary data. Released in March, the 2016 U.S. Salary Survey indicated that U.S. respondents with CMA certification have a 28% higher median total compensation than those without any certification. This percentage rose to 46% when accountants paired both CMA and CPA certifications together. In the next few months, IMA will release Salary Survey reports for China, Middle-East Africa, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates in the upcoming months.
In addition, IMA has partnered with Robert Half to provide access to the Robert Half Salary Center. Visitors can find information on starting compensation for more than 400 jobs, including senior accountant, financial analyst and controller. Dive deeper into trends affecting finance salaries and insights into the hiring environment. The Salary Calculator tool can be used to conduct local salary comparisons.
Another career management tool available within the Salary Center portal is CareerDriver, a free benefit for all IMA members. CareerDriver is designed to help management accounting professionals evaluate their skill set, create a personalized development plan, and explore possible career paths.
