Inaugural Class of CSCA Award Winners

ICMA® (Institute of Certified Management Accountants) recently announced the inaugural class of award winners for its new specialty credential, the CSCA® (Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis).

Launched in 2017, the CSCA credential builds on planning, analysis, risk management, decision support, and performance management skills by strengthening an individual’s knowledge base in the specific discipline of strategic planning. Holders of the credential will be more equipped to drive strategic planning, enable innovation, build resilient financial plans, and manage risk to help their organizations sustain a competitive advantage.

The following individuals who took the CSCA exam during the initial testing window in September 2017 were recognized for their exceptional performance:

  • Wesley M. Womer, of Indianapolis, Ind., received the CSCA Gold Award for achieving the best performance on the exam.
  • David L. Krake, of Oswego, Ill., received the CSCA Silver Award for achieving the second-best exam performance.
  • James Morales, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., received the CSCA Bronze Award for achieving the third-best exam performance.

“The new CSCA credential is part of an initiative by ICMA to offer supplemental credentials to fill the continuous learning and career growth needs of our certified members,” said Paul Juras, CMA, CPA, Ph.D., chair, ICMA Board of Regents. “We commend this group of award winners, who will always have the distinction of performing so well on the CSCA exam during its inaugural testing window. We encourage all CMAs and CFMs who want to boost their capabilities in strategic planning to study and sit for this credential, as it will position them to add even more value to their organizations.”

The next testing window to be offered for the CSCA exam is in March 2018, and the deadline for registration is February 28, 2018. IMA is offering a special discount for this testing window: Those who register before January 31, 2018, will receive a $250 discount off registration fees. Click here for more information. To be eligible to take the CSCA exam, you must be an active CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) or CFM®.
