Exclusive Academic Opportunity: Take the CMA Exam for Free

Academics: We know you encourage your students to pursue CMA® (Certified Management Accountant) certification, which provides them with a critical competitive advantage and demonstrates their proficiency with today’s in-demand skills. Now IMA® (Institute of Management Accountants) offers you the same opportunity, but with an exclusive benefit: the chance to take the CMA exam yourself at no cost.

IMA academic members who complete the application for this CMA Opportunity will receive a comprehensive package of benefits, enabling them to study for and take the CMA exam for free. The benefits include:

  • Entrance fee to the CMA program;
  • Exam support package – an assessment tool that can help assess a candidate’s preparedness for the content covered on the CMA exam; and
  • Registration fees for the first attempt at both parts of the CMA exam.

The CMA Opportunity benefits will be activated upon notice of being approved. The recipient must register for the CMA program within two weeks of receiving the approval email and pass both exam parts within three years.

To be eligible for the program, academics must submit an application, including a 250-word essay answering the question: “How do you believe you and your students would benefit from your opportunity to take the CMA exam?”

“We’re pleased to be able to offer this program to our academic members, as we believe it will provide them with first-hand experience about studying for and taking the exam,” said Jodi Ryan, IMA director of student and academic relations. “We encourage all academics to take advantage of this opportunity – it’s a great way to support their own professional development as well as encourage their students to follow suit.”
