Despite global economic and political factors that might have predicted otherwise, MIT Sloan Management Review and The Boston Consulting Group 2011 global study, Sustainability: The “Embracers” Seize Advantage, reveals that corporate commitments to sustainability driven management are strengthening. Almost 60 percent of the 3,000 executives interviewed around the world reported that their companies’ sustainability spending had increased in 2010. The study found that a growing number of companies believe sustainability will become a source of market advantage, should be incorporated strategically in all aspects of business operations and eventually will require a sea change in competitive behavior.
