Realizing your potential as a management accountant largely depends on your drive, your leadership ability and the opportunities you create for yourself. By earning your CMA certification, you will acquire the breadth and depth of skills and knowledge to stand out from the crowd in the job market. IMA student members can sit for the CMA exam while still in school at a reduced fee.
Recognized worldwide, our CMA certification program has been considered the gold standard for accounting and finance professionals during the past 35 years. Applicable to all industries, the CMA assesses one’s competency against the CMA body of knowledge.
We take careful steps to ensure that the CMA is a relevant credential. The exam is developed using generally accepted best practices for credentialing programs, including psychometric testing of exam questions and other quality control measures. The CMA objectively assesses and measures experience, education, and professional knowledge -- the foundation of competent practice as a management accounting and finance professional.
To achieve the CMA credential, candidates must demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding and knowledge of the management accounting and finance topics that are tested on the four parts of the CMA examination. Candidates must also have two years of relevant job experience to satisfy the CMA’s experimental requirements.
