"I believe it’s very important that people demonstrate mastery of a subject by earning an objective signal or sign that they have achieved a certain level of competency. That’s why the CMA is such an excellent certification: It shows mastery of a very broad range of subjects."
Dr. Wanda A. Wallace, CMA, CPA, CIA

“I didn’t really follow a traditional accounting path: I majored in management and economics in college…As a manager, I’ve encouraged many members of my staff to pursue their certification. I decided that it was time to lead by example and earned one myself.”
Julie A. Lagacy, CMA

Performance Reports are sent via e-mail from Prometric to all candidates who take an exam part. The performance reports are e-mailed approximately 14 days after exam results are posted to the candidate’s profile. Candidates who do not pass the exam will receive a report that indicates their performance on each of the key topic areas in the multiple choice section as well as their overall performance on the essay section of the exam.
All CMA candidates have three years to pass both parts of the exam. The time period will begin with the date of your entry into the CMA program. If you don't pass the two-part exam within three years, credit for the part passed will expire, and you will have to retake the exam.
An exam part may be taken only once in a testing window and no more than three times in a 12-month period (e.g., Part 1 may only be taken once within the January/February testing window). All exam retakes require a new registration, along with payment of appropriate fees.
