When you are ready to take an exam, please follow these steps.

1. Join IMA and submit the Certification Entrance Fee if you have not already done so.
2. File an Exam Registration Form selecting the exam(s) you wish to take and paying the indicated fees.
3. Receive a Registration acknowledgement providing your authorization number(s), authorization window(s)*, and the Instructions for Candidates (U.S. Instructions) (International Instructions).
4. Schedule your exam appointment(s) with Prometric.
5. Appear for your scheduled appointment(s) with the required identification documents (Instructions for Candidates).

*Parts 1, 2 and 3 have a 120-day testing window during which candidates must schedule and sit for their exam.

Part 4 CMA has a one-month window and is given only four times a year during the months of February, May, August and November. When registering for Part 4 please be sure to check the box indicating the month you want to sit for the exam. (Please note if you are submitting a registration during an exam window, February, May, August, November, you must submit your registration prior to the 15th of the month to be permitted to register for the current testing month, i.e. any registration received on or after February 15 will not be processed for February, it will be processed for the next testing month, May.) If your appointment cannot be kept for any reason including technical problem at the testing center or unscheduled site closures you must either reschedule during the current testing month or reschedule for the next testing month. Part 4 cannot be administered outside of these testing months.

We strongly urge all candidates to schedule their appointments as soon as they receive their exam authorizations to assure them of getting the testing date they desire.
