June 25, 2013
Montvale, N.J., June 25, 2013 – The Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA®), the certification division of IMA®, today recognized the leading performers on its Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) examination for the January/February 2012 testing period. Award recipients were recognized at the IMA Annual Dinner, held this evening during IMA’s 94th Annual Conference and Exposition in New Orleans, La.
IMA’s globally recognized CMA program is a relevant assessment of advanced accounting and financial management knowledge in four critical areas: financial planning, analysis, control, and decision support. The CMA assures employers that an individual has mastered the knowledge and skills needed on the job today.
Of nearly 3,000 individuals who took the CMA exam in English during the January/February 2012 testing period, medals were awarded to the following individuals for their exceptional performance:
- Jacob Greenman, of Austin, Minn., received the ICMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest exam score.
- Tianyu Zhu, of Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, received the ICMA Silver Medal for achieving the second-highest exam score.
- Saif Lalani, of Calgary, Canada, received the ICMA Bronze Medal for achieving the third-highest exam score.
In addition, ICMA awarded Certificates of Outstanding Performance to the following: Sherif Mahmoud Abdel Kader Mohamed Elgamal, of Cairo, Egypt; Chi Ching Ko, of Washington, D.C.; Kathleen Marie Koss, CPA, of Chicago, Ill.; Hajime Koyanagi, CPA, of Toyko, Japan; Bei Li, of Shanghai, People’s Republic of China; Dashan Li, of Beijing, People’s Republic of China.; Ronald Springer, of West Richland, Wash.; and Dr. Mary F. “ICMA congratulates these award recipients and acknowledges their exceptional performance on this exam,” said Rick S. Thompson, CMA, CFM, CPA (N.C.), ICMA Board of Regents chair. “This past fiscal year, we experienced a record number of CMA certificates awarded. By earning their CMA credential, these professionals are not only bolstering their own career outlooks but they are also contributing to the financial and strategic excellence of their organizations.
