CFO at 28: Career Advice from a Seasoned Professional

Ben Mulling has been with TENTE Casters Inc. for six years. He has served as controller for two years and now CFO for the past four years. Mr. Mulling has earned his CMA, CPA, and CITP certifications.
During his role of CFO, he was charged with navigating TENTE through the recession and into growth mode. He championed projects, particularly in business intelligence, to drive lean reporting, performance measurement, and leading indicators which were used to drive the company into success.
Mr. Mulling was a founding member of IMA's Young Professional Committee and currently serves on IMA's Global Board of Directors. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Indiana Wesleyan University where he teaches Accounting and Finance related classes.
In early 2012, Mr. Mulling was awarded with the inaugural IMA Young Professional of the Year Award for outstanding achievement in the management accounting profession.
